Blake Coules - CEO & Managing Director
Blake Coules, based in Houston, Texas, serves as CEO and Managing Director of
RBC Builder Finance where he guides RBC Builder Finance's overall strategy and
operations, future growth and favorable returns. Prior to this role, he was
responsible for portfolio oversight and transaction adjudication for RBC
Centura's Commercial loan portfolio within the five state foot print as well as
the national builder finance portfolio. Blake has been with RBCFG for over 20
years in various leadership roles in a variety of businesses and functions,
including 3 years in Japan. He joined RBCFG after earning a Bachelor's degree
in Commerce from the University of Toronto. Blake has also completed the
Executive program at the University of Western Ontario's Ivey School of
Business.
Ken Shaw - Chief Operating Officer
Ken Shaw is the Chief Operating Officer for RBC Builder Finance, overseeing all
loan servicing and business support functions. Prior to his current role, Shaw
served as Eastern U.S. Production Manager for RBCBF, where he managed loan
production efforts in the Midwest and current RBC Centura footprint. Before
joining RBC, he served as Senior Vice President for residential construction
loan production and portfolio management at Washington Mutual Bank/Bank United.
Shaw has over 25 years experience in banking focusing on residential lending.
He earned a BBA from Texas A&M University in 1971 and is a Certified Public
Accountant.
Jim Goodchild - Chief Lending Officer
Jim Goodchild serves as the Chief Lending Officer. In his role, he is
responsible for all business origination activities, business strategy, Credit
Policy and Portfolio Management & Quality. Prior to his current position,
Goodchild served as Chief Corporate and Investment Banking Officer for Builder
Finance. He joined RBC Builder Finance in March 1998 as Chief Risk Officer,
responsible for risk and credit policies. Before RBC, he served as CFO/COO for
Baltic International USA. Goodchild has an extensive background in credit
policy and commercial lending, with over 25 years of experience in commercial
and residential real estate underwriting, credit, and loan review. He is a
graduate of the University of Houston with BA degrees in Finance, Russian and
Soviet Studies, and International Relations.
Carolynn Alexander - National Syndications Manager
Carolynn Alexander serves as National Syndications Manager, responsible for
selling and managing syndicated credit facilities. She has been a part of the
senior management team since April of 2003. Prior to RBC, she managed
residential loan production in the Southwest and East Coast regions for
Washington Mutual. She brings more than 20 years of experience in originating
residential construction loans, syndications, borrowing base credits, and
credit underwriting. Alexander is an alumna from Miami University in Oxford,
Ohio.
Bill Bickett - RBC Centura Production Manager
Bill Bickett is the RBC Centura Production Manager and is responsible for loan
production efforts within the RBC Centura retail-banking footprint: Virginia,
North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. Before his current position,
Bickett served as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Production Manager for RBCBF,
covering loan production in the southeast states. He joined RBC when the Royal
Bank acquired Centura Bank in 2001. With over 20 years of experience in real
estate lending, he has held a number of positions overseeing residential
construction financing and banking operations. Bickett holds a BA from the
University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Chad Botkin - Southwest Regional Production Manager
Chad Botkin serves as the Southwest Regional Production Manager, managing loan
production efforts in Texas, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico. Prior to his
current position, Botkin served RBCBF as the loan production officer for Texas.
He has been with the business unit for over 13 years. Botkin has extensive
residential construction and real estate experience in Texas, including
Houston, Austin, Dallas, San Antonio, as well as the Phoenix, Arizona, and Las
Vegas markets. Botkin earned a BS in Business Management from University of
Texas Dallas.
Matt Drown - Northwest Regional Production Manager
Matt Drown is the Northwest Regional Production Manager, responsible for loan
production in Idaho, Utah, Oregon, Nevada and Washington. Prior to this
position, Drown served RBCBF as a loan production officer with responsibilities
throughout the Northwest. He joined RBC from United Savings Bank, where he
managed the residential and commercial lending portfolio. Drown brings over 18
years of real estate finance experience to his position. Drown has a BS in
Finance with an emphasis in real estate finance from the University of Utah.
Donna Ellegood - Pacific Regional Production Manager
Donna Ellegood is the Pacific Regional Production Manager, covering the entire
state of California. She joined RBC Builder Finance in May of 2001 as the loan
production officer for the San Francisco office. Prior to RBCBF, Ellegood
managed a residential and commercial construction portfolio at Bank One -
Arizona. In total, Ellegood possesses more than 30 years of real estate banking
experience. She has an extensive background in residential lending, portfolio
management, underwriting and business development.
Tom Van Lierde - Midwest Regional Production Manager
Tom Van Lierde is the Midwest Regional Production Manager, overseeing
loan production encompassing 11 States and the District of Columbia. Prior to this position,
Van Lierde served RBCBF as an Area Manager/Loan Production Officer with responsibilities
throughout Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia.
He joined RBCBF in 2002 from SunTrust Bank, where he managed the residential lending
portfolio for the Washington Metropolitan Area. Van Lierde brings over 25 years
of real estate finance and builder/developer experience to his role. Van Lierde
has a dual BA Degree in Finance and Economics from the Catholic University of America
in Washington DC.
